PB Ranked is a free fan game made by Sondre Norheim. There are no ads, no purchases and no tracking. This page says what the game keeps about you, why, and what you can ask for. Questions or requests: stinsonoscar@gmail.com.

What the game keeps

Your player account: the trainer name and trainer you pick, your ratings, wins and losses, and your saved settings.
Your sign-in: if you sign in with Discord or Google, only the ID number that account has. We do not get or keep your email address, your password or your profile.
Matches: for each match, the teams, the moves called, the result and the rating changes, so matches can be checked, replayed and featured.
Problem reports: what you write when you press "Report a problem", with your trainer name, the match, your device type and browser (for example "iPhone Safari") and any errors the page hit. Errors are also sent automatically when the game breaks on your device, with the same device details.

The server does not keep logs of visitors' IP addresses. It counts how many times the game's page is loaded each day: a plain number, with nothing about who loaded it.

Why

To run the game you asked to play: to keep your account and rating, match you with other players, run the leaderboard and tournaments, keep the game fair, and fix problems. Top players and battles may be shown publicly, for example in videos, by trainer name.

Where it is kept, and for how long

On the game's server in Helsinki, Finland (Hetzner Online, inside the EU).
Backups: one a day, kept for 14 days on the server and 30 days on the developer's computer.
Your account and matches are kept while the game runs, or until you ask us to delete them.

Who else sees it

Discord or Google, only when you choose to sign in with them; their own privacy policies apply there.
Problem reports and server alerts are posted to a private channel of the Pokémon Battlegrounds Discord server, for the team.
Other players see your trainer name, trainer, rating and record.
Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.

Cookies and storage

No tracking or advertising cookies. During sign-in the game sets two short-lived cookies (10 and 2 minutes) that make sure the sign-in finishes in the browser that started it. Your settings, teams and sign-in code are kept in your browser's local storage. The game loads nothing from other sites; a link (such as Discord) is only contacted when you click it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we have about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and its data: email stinsonoscar@gmail.com with your trainer name. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

Age

PB Ranked is meant for players aged 13 and up.
